Hello - my name is Jason - jdog19 screen name.
I started collecting cards when I was 7 years old - starting with hockey (grew up near Detroit), and football - really, Yzerman and Barry Sanders. I must have broken hundreds of packs of 1984-85 OPC Hockey and 1989 Score Football - both from my dad who seemed to have an endless supply. Back then, 84-85 OPC was $4-5/pack and score was $2-3.
I skipped the 90's and 2000's, and returned about a year ago - and am completely overwhelmed with the amount of product now being produced. I still only collect Yzerman, Sanders, and Red Wings Young Guns. This whole memorabilia and auto 'stuff' is new to me - my favorite card of all time is my 1990 Pro-Set Stanley Cup Hologram - probably because it was the holy-grail of hockey cards back when I was a kid.
