Question 7 [for TheTruth17]: Is your avatar supposed to be a composite of prominent FireHand Cards characters? You've got Irving's rotund cranial shape and perma-stoned eyes, Chad's old man glasses (orthopedic socks and varicose veins not pictured), blonde BT's haircut, and the patented SBLEZ unibrow.

To all card companies
Many collectors prefer to have on card autographs. What strategies are they using to fulfill the customers high demands? This is related to redemptions. What are they doing currently to minimize redemptions?
To Topps
Topps Chrome Football is one of my favorite products. One thing I dislike is only having 1 autograph. Have they considered having more than 1 autograph?

1. More on card autos 2. Topps: get better customer service, NO ONE should have to wait on hold for 45 mins, while you guys are taking naps. 3. Instead of making five crappy products make one good product

Hey guys.. irving idea of NBA starting 5 players from each team of that years NBA roster, no veterans no d-leagues... the set would be awesome as it would only feature names playing consistently..
Also think more action shots of players during games again, anyone else love the Michael Jordan 'Spotlight' 92/93 upperdeck?

1) What are the benefits for collectors to have card companies with exclusive deals for sports/players? 2) Can we have player cards be consistent? Not a fan of a guy wearing one team's uniform, with his new team listed and then a memorabilia piece from yet another team.

1. I would ask them if they would consider making more blaster box lines with guaranteed hitsalso ..being a blaster buyer it would be nice to get more autos out of them 2. also i would ask if they considered pre-sleaving or top-loading cards to ensure better grades in certin produce like 5-star for example

Will we see a football product modeled after Flawless?
How about subset of Americana with some of the best breakers on TV?
Panini.......since you take our money for product that you some times can't fulfill with redemption request how bout sending us money through PayPal or giving us pre paid credit cards as an option along with cards offered for the unfulfilled redemption's.

To Panini: pls cut half of your bkb products, and just have the brand recognition more clearly by 4 tiers as low end (panini, Prestige <60/box) mid end (elite, totally certified ~100/box) high end (gold standard, preferred ~200/box) and premium (NT, flawless >300/box) in which no more than 4 products for each tier.
To UD: pls honour your expired redemption as no way you make up a IOU for customer, and no vice versa.

For Panini - Why were some players in 2012-13 Immaculate Basketball not on the same team as other 2012-13 products? (i.e. Dwight Howard being Rockets and not Lakers) For Topps - Why does it seem that they don't change their jumbo patch design or put much effort into trying? (i.e. '13 Musuem and '12 Five Star look similar, same could be said for the rookie autos from Five Star and the veteran/rookie auto set in Museum)

1. Game used cards have become one of the cornerstones of the hobby since their inclusion in product in the mid 1990's. But as they have become so commonplace that only the most prime swatches or those with other enhancements (ultra-low serial numbering, part of a rookie card or autographed) have significant secondary market value, would you consider trying a product where instead of having game used cards, there could be redemption cards inserted for full pieces of game used equipment? I have two reasons why this could work: (a) added scarcity and collectability over the average game used card and (b) to further prevent searching of packs by collectors as redemption cards can be printed on the same size card stock as base cards. Thoughts?
2. For years, parallel cards have simply gone berserk in just about every product (this applies to all card manufacturers, I am not singling one out!) What is preventing you (the card manufacturers) from limiting the number of different parallels in any given product? For more cost efficient products, a one-per-pack parallel and printing plates should hold well for the target market. For more expensive products, I think a /50 parallel and printing plates should suffice. I am curious as to the reasoning why the abundance of parallels in new product still exist. I have known many a player and team collector that has simply given up on the hobby because they have gone crazy chasing essentially the same photo with different colored foil in some cases 10+ times over. It's insanity. I am also aware that there was (maybe still is?) a policy with the various licensing bodies that a player can only be used a certain amount of times in any given product and that a parallel doesn't count as an additional use. Even still, set collectors would rather have another base card to work with to build their sets over a parallel card that has little value to them.

can companies improve their packaging for thick cards as a lot of them have damaged corners?
i would like to see more defensive player cards in Football, especially high end products. Is this possible?

1. A curious question I've had, what's the difference in compensation for players who sign for your respective companies (i.e. taking a star such as Kevin Durant compared to someone such as James Anderson)? Are they given any compensation for sales of the product too?
2. Is there something in the works that will eliminate the use of normal sports cards stock and switching to other methods such as acetate, glass, etc. so that customers will be pleased with no chipping, scratches, etc.?

Questions,
1) I agree with some, More original and variation of pictures, (non-photoshop) when it comes to different colors and #'d cards, I realize its more costly, but for a card that supposed to be vaulued more or less you could do more to it then just change the color.
2) Damage and shipping. Recently i have marketed better packaging, handling, and shipping for product in my own company i work for. Why does the the product still continue to come in that Glossy Wrapping and Thin box when you know the case is coming and getting thrown around stacked on and smashed. I have had countless "hits" ruined and damaged that a little foam, or extra padding, wrapping could have prevented.
*** the more prestige and better you present your product from company to dealer to customer with quality, the better overall outcome. If you are going to send i top high end product you get the cases and tins with foam. But you market the smaller products with a thin cardboard and wrap, just a thought, as other companies are working on presentation just as much as the quality of their own product.***

1. retail has been pretty disappointing through the past, well since i can remember, what now in the past few years made you decide to introduce retail only memorabilia and subset/colored cards?
2. is there a chance that you will be able to rope in some of the UD exclusive players in the near future, i mainly collect basketball, but for example lebron and jordan. i am sure other collectors have other athletes they can think of?

Thought of another two... (All companies) - With the "invention" of new books cards (6 sig's, 8 sig's, 4 patches/sig's, etc.) .. Have any of you considered a strategic alliance with One Touch or creating your own company for card storage & collection holders? Topps has book cards in Supreme that I cannot fit in anything, nor have any way to display it without just leaving the card out with no protection..
(Mostly Topps with Bowman) - Does it upset you guys at all to watch people buy your products then spend $7+ for grading services only for their card to not get a good grade because of "Centering"? There are so many links in the chain for cards to get in consumers hands that its difficult enough to keep the cards in good quality for edges, corners, and surface! How are we going to react if the quality continue to be subpar on your parts on printing?! Obviously mistakes are going to be made when printing 1,000's of cards; what are you doing to combat/help these problems?

With he growing amount of product produced each year, what are you doing to keep the industry healthy and prevent a repeat of the late 80's and early 90's?

Hello Everybody. As many of you already know, the Industry Summit is March 16-19 in Las Vegas. We have the opportunity to sit and talk with The Card Companies Face to Face at this event. As part of our Free National Treasures Break Promotion we are asking you to submit a minimum of 2 questions you would like to ask of these Companies. It is a very simple contest, just come up with some questions you would like answers to in regards to your favorite or lease favorite products. We will bring this ammunition with us to the Summit so we can ask the Manufacturers directly. Please specify which card company your question is directed towards, like Topps, Panini, Tristar, etc... WE ARE ALREADY GOING TO BE ASKING MANY QUESTIONS IN REGARDS TO REDEMPTIONS SO PLEASE KEEP THOSE QUESTIONS OUT OF THIS THREAD !!
That's It.... Don't forget to post in the new members introduction thread to complete your entry into the FREE Break

From a collectors perspective, exclusive rights seem to negatively effect the quality of products that are produced by the card companies due to a lack of competition, what do the three major card companies (Upper Deck, Topps and Panini) feel about exclusive rights and it's effect on the quality of products content?
Again, for all three companies,
Customer surveys seem to be popular in most businesses, however, the card companies have great opportunities to ask it fan base what and who it wants in its products. I seldom, if ever seen any type of information gathering from the industry via online methods or survey information shipped with redemption cards. Does the major companies have any plans to start asking the community for information of wants and needs in future products?
